PILES(পাইলস)
congestion of venous plexuses around anal canal is called piles. Another name of piles is haemorrhoids.This is common in adults.Cause is not known. It is thought that
piles is related with constipation and straing.It may develop for the first time during
pregnancy.
Classification of piles :
Piles is classified into three types. These are -
1. First degree piles
2. Second degree piles
3.Third degree piles
First degree piles bleed. Second degree piles prolapse but retract spontaneously. Third degree piles require manual replacement after prolapsing.
Clinical Features:
Bright red rectal bleeding is noticed after defecation. Pain,itching around an
anus and mucous discharge are also complained.
Treatment:
1.Measures to prevent constipation and straing
2.Injection sclerotherapy and band ligation is effective for most of the people
3. Haemorrhoidectomy is required in minority of patients which is
usually curative
